Assembly Prayer Songs

Choral prayers sung during morning school assembly to center minds on divine peace and fraternal unity.

Bind Us Together Lord

Bind us together Lord, bind us together With cords that cannot be broken. Bind us together Lord, bind us together With love. There are so many branches But there is only one vine To help and serve each other We seek your help divine.

Showers of Blessing

There shall be showers of blessing This is the promise of love There shall be seasons refreshing Sent from the saviour above. Showers of blessing, showers of blessing we need Mercy-drops round us are falling But for the showers we plead!

Make Me a Channel of Peace

Make me a channel of your peace. Where there is hatred let me bring your love. Where there is injury, your pardon, Lord. And where there's doubt, true faith in you. Where there's despair in life, let me bring hope. Where there is darkness, only light. And where there's sadness, ever joy.

(The Angelus)

English: "The Angel of the Lord declared unto Mary, and she conceived of the Holy Spirit... Behold the handmaid of the Lord, be it done unto me according to Thy word."

St. Augustine's Prayer

How late have I loved you Oh splendor divine Oh beauty so ancient Oh beauty so new! What blindness was mine Oh beauty how late have I turned to you You were within me, but I was outside I sought after you in the things you made... You called and shouted, and broke through my deafness. You touched me, and I burned for your peace.
— St. Augustine of Hippo (The Confessions)
